According to the Texas law, those who will be driving in the state of Texas will pay for any damages they cause in case of an accident. Several drivers abide the financial responsibility law by getting the liability insurance in Texas.

There are various legal penalties involved if you violate the financial responsibility law. The following are the penalties for driving without car insurance in the state of Texas:

1. a fine between $175 – $350 for the first conviction. Subsequent violation may result to a fine of $350 – $1000

2. Drivers license suspension

3. Typically,, subsequent offense for operating a vehicle without car insurance may result to license suspension, so to reinstate your license, you will need to file an sr22 insurance form

After you license suspension due to operating a vehicle without the required liability insurance in Texas, you need to show proof of insurance in the state in the form of SR22. You can file SR22 from your auto insurance provider and the insurer will submit this to the Texas Department of Public Safety. You will need to keep the SR22 insurance form for 2 years.

If you cancel, terminate or let your SR22 insurance form lapse before the time period you are required to carry it, your car insurance company will inform the Texas DPS. As a result, your license will be suspended.
